GaFORD has been operational since May 2020. We started with programmes focusing on empowering the youths in different spheres through gender based sensitization, leadership and development training programmes, and business skills training.
GAFORD’s Cancer Awareness Program is a comprehensive initiative designed to educate and
empower rural communities about the various aspects of cancer prevention, early detection,
and treatment. With a focus on underserved populations, the program dispels myths, raises
awareness about common types of cancer, and provides accessible resources for screening and
treatment. Through community workshops, screening camps, awareness campaigns,
collaborations with healthcare providers, and support groups, GAFORD endeavors to equip
individuals with the knowledge and tools necessary to detect cancer at its early stages, access
appropriate medical care, and navigate the challenges associated with a cancer diagnosis. By
fostering a culture of prevention and early intervention, the Cancer Awareness Program reduces
the burden of cancer in rural areas and improves the overall health outcomes of the
communities served by GAFORD.
GAFORD’s Mental Health Program is a vital initiative that promotes psychological well-being and
addressing mental health challenges within rural communities. Recognizing the significance of
mental health in overall well-being, the program focuses on raising awareness, reducing stigma,
and providing support services to individuals facing mental health issues. Through training
workshops, counseling services, awareness campaigns, peer support groups, and community
outreach programs, GAFORD builds a supportive environment where individuals feel empowered
to seek help and access resources for mental health care. By integrating mental health into its
broader development agenda, GAFORD enhances the resilience and quality of life of rural
populations, fostering healthier and more inclusive communities.
